{"id":442,"date":"2014-05-02T18:50:25","date_gmt":"2014-05-02T16:50:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thiswayupafrica.co.za\/?p=442"},"modified":"2014-07-28T14:13:01","modified_gmt":"2014-07-28T12:13:01","slug":"day-16","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thiswayupafrica.co.za\/?p=442","title":{"rendered":"Day 16 &#8211; Arusha to Lake Manyara"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<em>120 km, 5777 km from Cape Town<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><strong>KINDRED SPIRITS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We spent the morning in the town of Arusha which is a very busy place, getting hardware that we had run short of and finding accommadation near Lake Manyara.<br \/>\nLeaving the city and heading west in fine weather, we passed a cyclist, travelling in the same direction who got very excited at the sight of our flags as we passed him and we stopped and chatted.<br \/>\nA lone South African Cairo to Cape Town cyclist &#8211; he had been on the road for 52 days and had made very impresive distance, we thought.
